Yeah Yeah Yeah!

Here's a little gem that's sure to make you smile. As you're probably already aware, almost all the live Beatles stuff is pretty sucky at best - with all the screaming fans they could never really hear themselves sing and play and as a result their showmanship actually deteriorated from around 1964-66. But dig this very tight, super nice live version of She Loves You.

This total goose-bump inducing recording is from back in October of 1963. Beatlemania was in full swing in Britain and quickly spreading across Europe and the Fab 4 appeared on "Pop '63", a Swedish radio show and played an awesome set before a very small studio audience. I was barely 2 years old at the time, still living in the UK and although I know it's possible though not very likely, I like to think that my folks had the radio on and this is when I first became a Beatles fan.

It's been said that this seven song set was John Lennon's favorite live recording of The Beatles. I can totally understand why!

Just 2 and a half months after this performance, The Beatles hit New York, rocked the Ed Sullivan Show twice in one week and, well, you know the rest of the story...

Enjoy!
