Manhattan Love Suicides: Extra Medication

Warning: Sparkle Booby Alert! Might not be safe for work or kids...

The Manhattan Love Suicides are an awesome group of kids from Leeds, UK that I spent a week and fell in love with during SXSW 2009. Here's the final fuzzy lo-fi down and dirty version of the video I recently finished for the soon to be released Manhattan Love Suicides DVD compilation. Check it out!: Extra Medication.

The Popular Music

The Popular Music by Superchunk (Mac McCaughan)

We were struck by lightning, it was like we'd never get old
Now when I reach out my arm in the morning the pillows are all cold
They were more or less the same when your head was there
Now I'm saving the traces of it and only I hold the secret who dyed your hair

The last time the wind blew hard through this town
I was you coming through that pulled my pillows down
Breaking ties and fruit flies and the summer's always breezy
Now I know you recorded the who's of your homes just to tease me

I've got my ear to the ground and I'm listening for you
I've got my ear to the ground and I'm listening for you

This happy homecoming, I am not inclined to beleive it
And a snap shot of me I know now you need it
So I'm coming back from my time underground
Do you see what I've found?

You want proof I still set out your plate?
Well I got your telegram about eight months too late
Now I'm smashing not washing the china you left me to use
Making mosaics of scenes from the parts of my life that you left me to lose

I've got my ear to the ground and I'm listening for you
I've got my ear to the ground and I'm listening for you

This happy homecoming, I am not inclined to beleive it
And a snap shot of me I know now you need it
So I'm coming back from my time underground
Do you see what I've found?

Original Van Halen Logo

An eBay user is selling off his copy of the original artwork for Van Halen’s first album, which not only has the band’s original, name-written-out-in-full logo, it has a picture of the band where David Lee Roth is relegated to the background–and sorta-mimicking Johnny Rotten:

The reputed story is that David Lee Roth spotted a Sex Pistols similar pose and requested the same for his cover. When this version was done, he rejected it as he thought it was too punky. Supposedly Alex hated his photo, it made him “look like a giant”.

Check out the original post: Would Van Halen’s Original Logo Have Packed The Same Punch?.
