Runnin' Down A Dream

Here's the preview for the new Tom Petty documentary 'Runnin' Down A Dream" directed by cinema legend Peter Bogdanovich (The Last Picture Show). It'll be showing during the closing weekend of the New York Film Festival and it looks pretty badass if you ask me.

There's also a nice little article about it over here: Big Screen Embraces Hot Muse: Rock Stars.

The 3 DVD 1 CD set will be available only at Best Buy beginning October 16th a week from today!

The waiting is the hardest part...

Yeah Yeah Yeah!

Here's a little gem that's sure to make you smile. As you're probably already aware, almost all the live Beatles stuff is pretty sucky at best - with all the screaming fans they could never really hear themselves sing and play and as a result their showmanship actually deteriorated from around 1964-66. But dig this very tight, super nice live version of She Loves You.

This total goose-bump inducing recording is from back in October of 1963. Beatlemania was in full swing in Britain and quickly spreading across Europe and the Fab 4 appeared on "Pop '63", a Swedish radio show and played an awesome set before a very small studio audience. I was barely 2 years old at the time, still living in the UK and although I know it's possible though not very likely, I like to think that my folks had the radio on and this is when I first became a Beatles fan.

It's been said that this seven song set was John Lennon's favorite live recording of The Beatles. I can totally understand why!

Just 2 and a half months after this performance, The Beatles hit New York, rocked the Ed Sullivan Show twice in one week and, well, you know the rest of the story...

Enjoy!

Are You Ready To Rock?

Hello there ladies and gentlemen, are you ready to rock? This week's episode is a flashback to some of my late seventies rock and roll favorites, so naturally you're gonna want to listen to this loud and perhaps maybe even schedule in a few beers. It's officially fall, the Red Sox are still in the hunt and my birthday is right around the corner so it's time to rock.

Are You Ready To Rock?
Yes! I'm ready to rock! or No. I am not ready to rock...
