Bobby Helms released his hit song “Jingle Bell Rock,” during Christmas 1957 and it reappeared again on the charts four of the following five years, becoming a Christmas classic in the process.
The B-Side was a less popular song called Captain Santa Claus and His Reindeer Space Patrol. Dig the low budget rocket sound effects!
This song goes perfect with eggnog or hot chocolate. Crank up the Jimmy Smith!

Having a nice quiet Sunday afternoon after a long walk with the dogs and enjoying a few of the beers leftover from Friday night's little Tiki bash.. Just finished listening to a cool segment on NPR about paring wine with music.
Here's a little excerpt:
The Doors may seem like an unusual musical choice for a wine bar. If Cabernet dominates the tasting list, however, the sommelier would do well to play some of the group's angriest songs — at least according to a theory espoused by vintner Clark Smith.
Smith, co-founder of the R.H. Phillips Vineyard and senior enologist at Vinovation, a wine consultation firm, proposes that a wine's taste is dramatically impacted by the music that accompanies it.
Cabernet Sauvignon, for example, is best when paired with "music of darkness" — thanks to the ability of rage-filled songs to smooth out similarly aggressive tannins, Smith's theory holds. An idyllic Mozart composition, on the other hand, works in reverse, potentially ruining a good Cab.

Crazy. Out of all the songs to pop up on my iPod this morning I can't believe Bud Hundenski's Coffee Polka just happened to come on.
You see, every coffeecup in the house is in the dishwasher after last night's last minute chili little Tiki Room soiree and as a result I'm drinking my morning coffee out of a ceramic beer stein. Perfect - cheers!
And if you made it all the way through Coffee Polka you deserve a little something special to start your Saturday off right. Dig the Barkay's funky jamming Hole In The Wall from the bitchin' 1965 Soul finger LP, one of the best instrumental records to come out of Memphis, an awesome party LP by the funky band that sadly went down with Otis Redding in the tragic plane crash in 1968.

The Krayolas "Little Fox" music video pays homage to an obscure 1965 black and white promotional music film of The Who singing "The Kids Are Alright" at Hyde Park in London.
The Krayolas used Woodlawn Lake on San Antonio's West Side as the backdrop for their campy, early morning shoot on Sunday, November 4, 2007. Grammy-winning legend Augie Meyers wrote "Little Fox" in 1967 for his group the Sir Douglas Quintet. That's Meyers' signature syncopated combo organ on The Krayolas track. Hilda Guerrero — mother of lead singer Hector Saldana and drummer David Saldana — wrote the Spanish lyrics for the bilingual party hit.
